Healthy Lunch At Honest Greens Soho London W1

While exploring Soho, I popped into Honest Greens on St Anne’s Court for lunch and loved it. Known as Honest Greens in the UK and HG in other European countries, it’s a relaxed, health-focused restaurant serving fresh bowls, market plates, seasonal sides and homemade drinks. If you’re looking for healthy restaurants in Soho or somewhere for lunch near Wardour Street, Honest Greens is well worth seeking out.

The menu focuses on colourful garden bowls, market plates and seasonal sides. I chose the Spicy Feta Bowl with homemade falafel. A couple of days earlier, I’d had a salad elsewhere that looked promising but was completely tasteless. This was the opposite, which is down to their no-processing-or-preservatives focus. Filled with feta, avocado, hummus, grains, fresh vegetables, pomegranate, hazelnut dukkha and a hot honey dressing, every forkful was vibrant and full of flavour. The falafel was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and beautifully spiced. Other choices include the Stracciatella Bowl, Latin Lover, Ginger Honey Goat and Avocado Supergreen, as well as market plates topped with everything from herb tofu to miso salmon and flat iron steak.

Beyond the bowls, the menu includes sharing dishes, market plates and seasonal sides, with everything from grilled chicken and miso salmon to herb tofu, street corn and smashed truffle potatoes, plus homemade sauces. Finish with one of their cookies, cakes, pies, overnight oats, protein bars and the excellent Chocolate Avo Mousse with Olive Oil and Salt.

If you’re there in the morning, you can try the coffee.

The interiors are just as appealing as the food. The large space is split into different seating areas on two levels, creating a relaxed yet energetic atmosphere. You order at the counter, then take a buzzer to your table. Just make sure the number is facing upwards so the team can easily find you when your food is ready.
